Housekeeper - Extended Stay Hotel

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our extended stay hotel team. This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests.
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, maintaining common areas, responding to housekeeping needs, and helping ensure the property consistently meets cleanliness and presentation standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and works well both independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
This position is scheduled Saturday through Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Regular days off are Thursday and Friday. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs.
Essential Functions: (Include but are not limited to)
- Guest Room Cleaning & Turnover: Clean and prepare guest rooms for new arrivals and extended stay guests, including changing linens, making beds, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen areas, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and completing room refreshes as needed.
- Clean Common Areas: Perform daily cleaning of lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, laundry rooms, and other guest-facing areas.
- Trash & Recycling: Remove trash and recyclables from guest rooms, common areas, housekeeping areas, and designated disposal locations.
- Glass & Surface Cleaning: Clean and polish windows, glass doors, mirrors, fixtures, and other surfaces throughout guest rooms and common areas.
- Restock Supplies: Replenish housekeeping carts, linen closets, guest room supplies, and designated storage areas; notify management when inventory is running low.
- Guest Requests: Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping requests while respecting guest privacy and providing excellent service.
- Report Maintenance Issues: Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, damaged fixtures, leaks, safety hazards, or other property issues to management.
- Safety & Security: Follow established safety, sanitation, key control, and guest privacy procedures at all times.
- Operate Cleaning Equipment: Safely operate vacuums, carpet cleaners, floor machines, and other housekeeping equipment. Use cleaning products and chemicals according to established safety procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, and management teams to support efficient room turnover and a positive guest experience.
- Urgent Cleaning Needs: Respond promptly to spills, accidents, and other time-sensitive cleaning needs throughout the property.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel, extended stay property, or similar hospitality environment preferred
- Working knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and proper chemical usage
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness and presentation standards
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks within expected timeframes
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members
- Reliable and dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Basic understanding of safety, sanitation, and guest privacy standards
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work the assigned schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive cleaning motions
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, including linens, trash bags, supplies, and cleaning equipment
- Push and maneuver housekeeping carts throughout the property
- Reach and lift overhead while cleaning and stocking guest rooms and common areas
- Climb stairs and navigate multiple levels of the property as needed
- Frequently use hands and arms while scrubbing, wiping, vacuuming, mopping, and performing other cleaning duties
- Work primarily indoors with regular exposure to cleaning products and occasional changes in temperature
- Respond promptly to guest and operational needs throughout the property
