Job Summary:

As part of our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining appearance, cleanliness, and curb appeal of the property while delivering outstanding service to guests and visitors.

As a Groundskeeper for our extended-stay hotel, you will be responsible for maintaining the landscaping, exterior grounds, and common outdoor areas while helping ensure the property remains clean, safe, and welcoming for our guests. You will work closely with the management and maintenance teams to ensure the property remains clean, safe, and inviting for guests, visitors, and team members.

Schedule: This position is regularly scheduled Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. The schedule is subject to change based on business and operational needs, and flexibility may be required.

Essential Functions: (Include but are not limited to):

  • Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall curb appeal of the property’s exterior grounds and common areas.
  • Perform routine groundskeeping duties, including sweeping, blowing, raking, weeding, trimming, and general exterior cleanup.
  • Remove litter, debris, pet waste, and other hazards from walkways, parking lots, landscaped areas, entryways, and other exterior areas.
  • Maintain trash and dumpster areas, including removing debris and ensuring surrounding areas remain clean and orderly.
  • Inspect property grounds regularly and promptly report safety hazards, property damage, lighting concerns, irrigation issues, or other maintenance needs.
  • Assist with maintaining landscaping and outdoor areas to company standards.
  • Keep sidewalks, entryways, parking areas, and other guest-facing exterior spaces clean, safe, and presentable.
  • Safely operate and maintain basic groundskeeping tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and properly use and store tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Maintenance team to address property needs and maintain overall property appearance.
  • Provide friendly and professional service when interacting with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Assist the Maintenance team with basic property upkeep and projects as needed and within the scope of the position.
  • Complete assigned groundskeeping tasks efficiently and within established timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support property operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance, or similar experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a hotel, extended-stay, multifamily, or other residential property environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of groundskeeping practices, landscaping, and exterior property upkeep.
  • Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and groundskeeping equipment.
  • Ability to identify and promptly report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or property concerns.
  • Strong attention to detail with pride in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive property grounds.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to manage daily responsibilities independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced property environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently walk and stand for extended periods while performing groundskeeping duties throughout the property.
  • Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to safely navigate stairs, sidewalks, parking areas, landscaped areas, and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday while following established safety procedures.
